Our Story
About POPSEY

The Founder
Steve Colas
I have been living in Seychelles for more than 17 years. I founded SEY SI BON (juice bar) in 2012 and Yo Love It (frozen yogurt) in 2016 — both businesses still operating today.
It is from this experience with local fruits that POPSEY was born in 2019. I noticed a gap in the ice cream market: the lack of natural, local, top-quality products — refreshing, artisanal and not shipped from the other side of the world.
POPSEY offers an alternative to imported ice cream brands, which are often synthetic and loaded with additives and sugars. I wanted to create something genuinely Seychellois, made with fresh local fruits, low in sugar and free from preservatives, artificial flavours or colourings. The famous Mango, the delicious Passion Fruit, the sweet Coconut, the surprising Seychelles Jackfruit or Lemongrass are just some of our many frozen creations.
I also developed options for specific dietary needs — the DIABETIC range with no added sugar, and the VEGAN range made with cashew and coconut milk for those avoiding dairy.
Rediscovering the true taste of local fruit in our frozen pops is the POPSEY motto. We also offer more indulgent gourmet recipes such as the Valrhona Chocolate POP, Oreo POP, Salted Caramel POP, and many more…
Our Mission
To celebrate the extraordinary fruits of Seychelles by turning them into the finest all-natural popsicles — supporting local farmers, reducing waste, and bringing joy to every bite.
Our Eco Commitment
Every POPSEY is made in Mahé, individually wrapped in compostable eco plastic, with a wooden stick and packed in kraft paperboard boxes. No single-use plastics. No shortcuts. Your Popsey is made locally with a limited carbon footprint — not shipped from the other side of the world.
Proudly Local
From the local fruits to the people we employ, POPSEY is deeply rooted in Seychelles. From harvest to delivery, all the way to tasting under the sun! Sesel sa!
